GARDNER - Raymond R. Guerin Jr., 71, of 116 Church Street, died February 16th at his residence.
He was born in Springfield, MA on January 7, 1944, son of the late Raymond R. and Helen L. (Wemette) Guerin. He grew up in Westfield and was a long time resident of Gardner and worked in this area for many years.
During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a corpsman in the United States Navy. He was a life member of the VFW and an avid model ship builder, specializing in naval vessels. At least two of Ray’s model ships are on display in the Gardner area. He was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley.
He leaves a sister, Barbara Russell of Naples, FL; two brothers, Thomas Guerin and his wife Peg of Kyle, TX; Christopher Guerin and his wife Paula of Shawnee, KS, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Brian in 1997 and sisters, Louella in 2012 and Annette in 2013.
Military funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13th at 11 A.M. in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
