GARDNER – Richard Moschan, 83, of 60 Cleveland Street, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, July 27th at his residence, with his family at his side.
A lifelong resident of Gardner, he was born on March 25, 1931, son of the late Charles and Maria (Osler) Moschan and was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School.
Dick worked as a millwright for Millwrights Local#1121 in Boston until his retirement. In his earlier years, he worked as a carpenter and had worked for seven years for Rural Housing in Winchendon. Dick was also a licensed steamfitter. He was a member of the Trentino Club and enjoyed coin collecting and the ocean. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Lois (Lukala) Moschan; five children, Jessica Whitney, who predeceased him, Jerry C. Moschan and his wife Cheryl of Harrisville, NH, Roslyn M. Greco and her husband Joseph of San Jose, CA, Wanda G. Goodwin and her husband David of Athol and Randall T. Moschan and his wife Heather M. of Gardner; a sister, Alda Smith and her husband Fred of Gardner, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 1st at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jim Hinds will officiate.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Green Bower Cemetery at a later date.
