RINDGE, NH - Richard K. "Ken" Lupien, 83, of 20 Sunset Drive, Rindge, NH, formerly of Winchendon, died peacefully Friday morning, April 24th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Winchendon on March 13,1926, son of the late George C. and Priscilla Ida (Caron) Lupien, lived in Winchendon for many years and had lived in Rindge since 1984. Ken was a welder at General Electric in Fitchburg for 41 years until his retirement. While employed at GE, he was chief steward and former secretary and treasurer of the Union. Before working at General Electric, he was a police officer in the Town of Fitzwilliam. Ken graduated from Murdock High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War Two. He later served in the National Guard. Ken was a member and Past Commander for two terms of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion, Winchendon. He was also a member of Artisan Lodge of Masons and the Winchendon Country Club. He enjoyed golf and hunting. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Dorothy J. (Hill) Lupien; two sons, R. Clifford Lupien and his wife Terry of Winchendon and Bruce C. Lupien and his wife Sandy of West Boylston; two daughters, Karen L.Tkaczyk and her husband Gary of Lunenburg, VT and Melanie A. Pouliot and her husband Randy of Gardner; ten stepchildren, Terrence M. Huff and his wife Gail of Farmington, NH, Jackie R. St.Sauveur and her husband Dan of Fitchburg, Carla N. Haskell and her husband Ray of Jaffrey, NH, Dennis E. Huff of Rindge, NH, Debbie E. Foley and her husband Mike of Kearney, NE, Danny L. Huff of Fitchburg, Kenny N. Huff and his wife Janice of Winchendon, Linda M. Belanger and her husband Peter of Winchendon, Penny A. Washburn of Winchendon and Susan A. Pineault and her husband Peter of Jaffrey, NH.; two sisters, Aline P. Lafalam of Winchendon and Jeannette J. Brown of Ipswich, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, A. Louise (Gingras) Lupien, who died in 1982; a brother, Joseph L. Lupien; a stepson, Willie R. Huff and his wife Karie Huff. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30th at 10 A.M. in the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jackson L. Williams will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, April 29th from 5 to 8 P.M. Artisan Lodge of Masons will conduct Masonic Funeral Services at 6 P.M. and Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion will conduct a Legion Service at 7 P.M.
