Robert C. Ford

October 10, 1943 — April 11, 2016

GARDNER – Robert C. Ford, 72, of 47 Lake Street, died unexpectedly Monday evening, April 11th in Heywood Hospital, with his family at his side.

He was born in Keene, NH on October 10, 1943, son of the late Robert A. and Marguerite Cora Ford Chant and grew up in Keene and Ludlow, MA.  He lived in Winchendon for most of his life and lived in Gardner since 1992.

Bob was a truck driver for various trucking companies for over 40 years.  He enjoyed genealogy, collecting coins, bingo and taking daily walks.  Bob also enjoyed trips to Cancun and Maine.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Sharline A. (Earle) Ford; six children, Lyn-Ann M. Ford of Clearwater, FL, Laurie A. Ford and her wife Barbara Meehan of Sunderland, Janie I. Ford Anderson and her husband Mark of Winchendon, Marguerite C. Ford Kuchta and her husband Michael of Winchendon, Robert C. Ford Jr and his wife Ronda of Winchendon and Tina Grehan Ford and her partner Julie Eisenberg of Lagrangeville, NY; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Bob also leaves two brothers-in-law, Douglas R. Earle of FL and Arthur Gilbert of Winchendon and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Plouffe of Gardner.  He was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Chant, a half sister Dawn (Ford) Hyzer, a brother Lindsey E. Ford, who died April 8th a sister-in-law, Rita Tenney of Winchendon and John Gilbert.

Calling hours for both Bob and his brother Lindsey will be held Friday, April 15th from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Chesterfield West Cemetery, Chesterfield, NH.
