Robert C. Richards Sr

WINCHENDON – Robert C. Richards Sr, of Winchendon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Robert was born in Winchendon on August 30, 1938, the only child of the late Clarance and Elizabeth (Bosworth) Richards.
A 1956 graduate of Murdock High School, he joined the Marine Corps upon graduation. After leaving the Marines, he worked at UTD and then General Electric for 31 years. Robert was a past commander and a life member of VFW Post of Winchendon; a life member of Winchendon Rod and Gun Club and was a Worcester County Deputy Sherriff. After his retirement, he enjoyed taking bus trips with his wife Carol, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Carol J. (Marquis) Richards; his son Robert C. Richards Jr and his wife Robbin and her children, Robert Gilbert, Devon Palotta and her husband James and their children, Angelyna, Daphine and Vincent of Templeton; his daughter Kaileen Nichols and her husband James and a granddaughter Amber Nichols of Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
Military funeral services and burial will be private in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
