JAFFREY, N.H. - Roger E. Robert, 81, of 18 Gilmore Pond Road, Jaffrey, N.H., died Sunday, March 19th in the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H., following an illness. He was born in Winchendon, MA. on October 26,1924, the son of Arthur J. and Delvina E. (Christian) Robert and had lived in Jaffrey for 23 years. Roger was a woodworker at the former Temple Stuart Co. in Baldwinville, MA. for 38 years before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 2, serving in Italy. He was a member of the John Humiston Post 11 American Legion, the Jaffrey Memorial Post 5613, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Knights of Columbus, all of Jaffrey. While living in Winchendon, he was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He enjoyed playing cards. Roger leaves his wife of 56 years, Yvonne M. (Morin) Robert; two sons, Craig S. Robert and Bruce R. Robert, both of Winchendon; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23rd from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday, March 22nd from 6-8 P.M.
