WINCHENDON - Roland R. Stewart, 59, of 36 Clark Road, Winchendon died Friday afternoon, January 23rd in UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester. He was born in Peterborough, NH on June 15,1949, the son of the late Gerald N. and Gladys (Martel) Stewart, and had lived in Winchendon for most of his life. Roland was a furniture worker at MH Parks Furniture Company and the former Modern Contract Industries of Gardner until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, attending races at Monadnock Speedway, going to Rietta Ranch and spending time at the Lake Dennison Boat Ramp. He was also an Elvis Presley fan. He leaves his wife, Carolyn (Race) Stewart; three sons, Shaun R. Stewart and his wife Heather of Winchendon, Evan Race of Gardner and Michael Stewart of Gardner; three daughters, Tina M. Vaillancourt and her husband Paul of Winchendon, Edie Whitlow and her husband Brian of Gardner and Crystal Stewart of Gardner; three brothers, Richard Stewart of VT, Douglas Stewart of Gardner and Harold Martel of NH; one sister, Elizabeth M. Hill of Winchendon; his stepmother, Elizabeth M. Stewart of Winchendon, nine grandchildren, one great grandson and several nephews and nieces. A sister, Patricia Ayers and a brother, Gerald Stewart, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27th at 6 P.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Howard Underwood, Jr. will officiate. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Tuesday, January 27th from 4 to 6 P.M. before the funeral.
