Rosemary A. Kangas

GARDNER - Rosemary A. Kangas, 73, of 400 Lovewell Street, died peacefully Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Heywood Hospital.

She was born in Gardner on February 5, 1944, daughter of the late Sulo and Annie (Moore) Kangas and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.  Rosemary was a graduate of Gardner High School and later graduated from Mt. Wachusett Community College in 1988.

Rosemary worked for many years as a billing clerk at Simplex Time Recorder until her retirement.  Many years ago, she worked in the Old Mill Restaurant.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Gardner Artists Association.

Rosemary enjoyed trips to visit family in Vermont, where she went camping.  She loved the fall foliage, holidays with her family, family barbecues and playing with her nieces and nephews.  She also enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, attending fairs, Chinese auctions and raffles.  Other activities, which she enjoyed were playing Bingo and Canasta and going to Mr. Donuts with Kate and Lucy.

She leaves a brother, Edward Kangas of Gardner; a sister, Martha Harrington of Gardner and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings John Kangas, Walter Kangas, Ronald Kangas, Muriel Gravel, Beverly Rice, Dorothy Moore and Carolyn Kendall.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.  Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, June 12, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Arthritis Foundation.
