GARDNER – Roy J. Bushey Sr., 81, of Gardner died peacefully at his residence Wednesday evening, June 29, 2022 with his family at his side.
He was born in Gardner on February 12, 1941, son of the late Thomas and Maude (Ward) Bushey and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.
Roy worked for 35 years as a truck driver for UCF Coop New England Feeds until his retirement. He later worked as a bus driver for H&W Transportation. Roy was a member of St. Martin’s Church and enjoyed motorcycling and spending time with his family. Roy had proudly served as a member of Army National Guard.
His wife of 61 years, Beverly A. (Emond) Bushey, died March 24th of this year. He leaves two children, Rachel J. Duguay and her husband Michael of Gardner and Roy J. Bushey Jr of Gardner and Barbara Bushey of Gardner; five grandchildren, Jessica Hunt and husband Jim, Jason Bushey and wife Kendra, Kalli Duguay, Joshua Duguay and Lisa Zuppa and eight great grandchildren, Kamryn, Genevieve, Kona, Knox, Kyra, Kwyn, Chace and Addison and a daughter in law, Laura Bushey of CO. A son, Raymond J. Bushey, who died in 1991; two brothers, Charles Bushey and Thomas Bushey Jr and a sister, Joan Brothers, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
