WINCHENDON – Ruth E. (Cota) Hildreth, 80, formerly of 502 Central Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Saturday evening, November 26th in Broadview Assisted Living, Winchendon.
She was born in Walpole, NH on January 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Paul J. and Esther (Palmer) Cota. Her family moved to Jaffrey, NH, where she attended school. Ruth lived in Winchendon for over 45 years, living the last four years in Broadview Assisted Living.
Ruth worked as a machine operator for many years at New Hampshire Ball Bearings in Peterborough, NH until her retirement in 2004. She previously worked at D.D. Bean in Jaffrey, NH. Her hobbies included shopping and traveling.
Her husband of 41 years, Winslow P. Hildreth, died in 2003. She leaves two stepsons, Richard W. Hildreth of Jaffrey, NH and Russell D. Hildreth of Kennebunkport, ME; a brother, Ernest M. Cota and his wife Arline of Jaffrey, NH; one sister, Dorothy E. King of Jaffrey, NH and several nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Margaret Patalano and Sylvia Oliger, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.
