WINCHENDON – Ruth E. (Stone) Brissette, 86, of 104 Church Street, Gardner, formerly of Winchendon, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
She was born in Winchendon on July 22, 1928, daughter of the late Arthur and Olive (Wright) Stone and was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life. She was a 1946 graduate of Murdock High School.
Ruth had worked as a cook at the former Winchendon Hospital and Pleasant View Rest Home. An avid fan of QVC, Ruth treasured spending time with her family. She loved being independent, taking drives, spending time at the ocean and eating out. She was a member of the former North Congregational Church.
Her husband, Maurice Brissette, died in 1994. She leaves two daughters, Gayle S. Bosworth and her husband Wayne of Royalston and Lorie A. Butler-Hallquist and her husband Neal of Phillipston; a brother, Roy Stone and his wife Nancy of Jaffrey, NH, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A sister, Mildred Perry of Burlington, MA, died last year.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26th at 1 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
