Sharon M. (McHardy) Derochers, born on August 5, 1942, in Quincy, MA, was known as one of the sweetest and strong-willed women one could ever meet. Her integrity, kindness, faith, strength, compassion, and unconditional love touched many lives in her 81 years. Sharon was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed celebrating her faith at Saint Joseph’s Parish near her home in Braintree, MA where she lived for over 55 years with the love of her life.
Sharon is survived by her loving family; her beloved husband who held her hand and her heart for over 62 years, Paul Derochers; daughters, Laurie (Frank) Kaminsky and Lynne (Michael) Bucci; son, Scott (Angela) Derochers; eleven grandchildren, Lauren Kaminsky, Jonathan Kaminsky, Ryan Kaminsky, Michael Bucci, Stephanie Bucci, Brianna Bucci, Caitlyn Bucci, Derek Picard, Nichole Derochers, Olivia Derochers, and Emily Derochers; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Amaya Picard; her brother Ralph (Mary) McHardy; brother-in-law, Dick (Martha) Cronin; several nieces and nephews, and so very many friends/family who feel blessed to have known her.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Abigail McHardy, her brother James (Renee) McHardy, and her best friend since age 5, Geraldine “Geri” (Campbell) Bono. After Geri’s passing, Sharon adopted the role of “Auntie” and “Nannie” for her best friends children Jennifer, Lisa, Jeremy, and Johnny, and grandchildren, Mason, Libby, Will, and Ryan.
Sharon loved to visit Bar Harbor, ME, and her Brother Jim’s house on the lake in NH. Sharon was a diehard New England sports fan, with a special love for the Bruins.
There is no doubt that the epicenter of Sharon’s world was her grandchildren. She loved being “Nannie”, spending time with them celebrating, dancing, and playing. She will be sincerely missed.
