TEMPLETON – Sherry A. Fontaine, 72, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Friday morning, September 9, 2022 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville with her family at her side.
She was born in Templeton on October 27, 1949, daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Reed) Fontaine and graduated from Narragansett Regional High School and Fitchburg College.
Sherry had worked as a medical secretary at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester for 46 years until her retirement at the age of 68. She attended Memorial Congregational Church in Baldwinville. Her hobbies were gardening, doing ceramics and collecting music boxes. She also had a collection of over 100 snowmen.
She leaves her longtime companion John Whipple; two brothers, Wayne Fontaine and his wife Cindy of Baldwinville and Joseph Fontaine and his significant other Cindy Meunier of West Virginia as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Fontaine and sister, Kathleen Lata.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
