GARDNER – Shirley L. (Marshall) Wordell, 78, of 125 Pearl Street, Gardner, died peacefully Monday afternoon, September 2nd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Taunton on July 24, 1935, daughter of the late Frank and Marian (Clark) Marshall, and grew up in Taunton, where she graduated from Taunton High School.
For the last six years, she lived in Gardner, moving from Fall River, where she lived for several years.
Shirley attended First Baptist Church, Gardner and maintained her membership with the First Baptist Church in Fall River.
She leaves her husband of 40 years, Leroy A. Wordell; five children, Edward Andrade of Taunton, Marian Ferreira of Fall River, William Westgate of Taunton, Shirley Wordell-Aguiar of Westminster and Daniel P. Wordell of Fall River; a sister, Pearl Del Solio of Taunton as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two children, Henry Andrade and Bonnie Wordell.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 10th at 1 P.M. in First Baptist Church, 14 High Street, Gardner. The Rev. Jim Hinds will officiate.
