WINCHENDON - Shirley M. Farrar, 82, of 72 North Street, Winchendon, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 9th, at her residence. She was born in Winchendon on August 27,1924, the daughter of Kenneth R. and Hazel (Plummer) Boutelle and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Shirley was a 1941 graduate of Murdock High School and worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Dr. Alton B. Skelton and Dr. Carl J. Antonellis. She later worked as personnel manager for Fitchburg Gas and Light Co. until her retirement. Shirley was a Notary Public. She enjoyed going to musicals and plays with the members of the Winchendon Council on Aging. She was a member of the United Parish Church. She loved animals and also enjoyed sewing, reading, working with her flowers and ceramics. She leaves a daughter, Susan E. LaFord and her husband Edward of Winchendon; a grandson, Charles M. LaFord and his wife, Christine of Greenville, NH; and two great grandchildren, Joseph LaFord and Lyanna LaFord. A grandson, Edward A. LaFord Jr., predeceased her. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 15th at 1 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. The Rev. Jackson Williams will officiate. There are no calling hours.
