Shirley V. (Nutting) Danils

GARDNER - Shirley V. (Nutting) Danils, 79, of 27 A Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday morning, February 16th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. She was born in Gardner on December 15,1930, the youngest child of the late Elmer and Florence (Gray) Nutting and was a lifelong resident of Gardner. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Gardner High School and worked at GFA Credit Union as a bank teller for 14 years until her retirement in 1961. She was an active member of Mission Street Congregational Church, where she was an honorary deaconess. A member of AARP, Shirley was a member of the Gardner Golden Agers. Shirley enjoyed bowling and had been a member of several bowling leagues at Gardner Ten Pins. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting, reading and feeding birds. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and granddaughter. Her husband, John W. Danils Jr, died February 15,1984. She leaves three daughters, Karen M. Johnson and her husband Allan of Baldwinville, Kathie L. Mousseau and her husband John of Jaffrey, NH and Karolyn J. Darvish and her husband Dr. Manouch Darvish of Boston; a granddaughter, Ariella R. Darvish of Boston; two brothers, Donald Nutting and his wife Bertha of Georgia and Gilbert Nutting of Westminster; one sister, Hazel L. Bastarache of Gardner and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Everett Nutting, Howard Nutting and Clarence Nutting and two sisters, Mildred Macaloney and Evelyn L. Caswell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20th at 10 A.M. in Mission Street Congregational Church, 15 Mission Street, Gardner. The Rev. Dana Witty will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Friday, February 19th from 6 to 8 P.M.
