WINCHENDON - Susan J. (DeMaura) LaVigne, 53, of 239 Main Street, Winchendon, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, September 7th. She was born in Gardner on January 17,1956, the daughter of the late Robert and Phyllis (Maliska) DeMaura and lived in Winchendon for most of her life. Sue assisted her late husband in their former flooring business, LaVigne's Flooring Center in Gardner. Years ago, she worked multiple jobs in food preparation in local restaurants and for the mentally ill. Sue loved to collect arts and crafts. Sue was a nurturer for her family and was formerly active with the Murdock High School Boosters and Parent Teachers Association. Most recently she had become active with daily activities held at the Winchendon Senior Center. Sue had received her GED and had attended Mount Wachusett Community College. Her husband of 33 years, Richard L. LaVigne, Jr., died last October. She leaves a son, Adam R. LaVigne and his wife Sadie J. of Winchendon and a brother, Bob DeMaura and his wife Donna of Peterborough, NH. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Melinda A. "Mindy" LaVigne, who died in 1996 and a brother, Stephen DeMaura. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 15th from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Graveside services will be held in Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday, September 16th at 1 P.M..
