WINCHENDON – Susan M. (Carpenter) L’Etoile, 56, of 34 Monadnock Avenue, died peacefully at her residence Friday, December 5th, with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on January 14, 1958, daughter of Anna A. (Caouette) Carpenter of Winchendon and the late Richard P. Carpenter. She graduated from the former Holy Family High School in Fitchburg in 1976 and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in music from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH in 1980.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Michael E. L’Etoile and her eight children, Brandon Wightman and his wife Amy Beth of Winchendon, Heather Wightman of Leominster, Kristen Batchelder and her husband Robert of Winchendon, Eric L’Etoile and his wife Erin of Winchendon, Jason L’Etoile of Winchendon, Ross L’Etoile of Winchendon, Stephanie L’Etoile of Winchendon and Craig L’Etoile of Winchendon; a brother Richard Carpenter Jr and his wife Suzanne of Winchendon and her four grandchildren, Breylyn Wightman, Bradley Wightman, Luci Batchelder and Peyton L’Etoile.
Sue was deeply devoted to her family and could always be seen in the audience of plays and recitals or on the sidelines of sporting events while her children were in school. She provided private piano lessons for several youths from her home for nearly 25 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 9th at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
