DUNNELLON, FL – Teresa A. (Mello) Sawyer, 84, of Dunnellon, FL, and formerly of Gardner and Winchendon, died peacefully Monday morning, April 8, 2013 in the Health Center at Brentwood, Lecanto, FL.
She was born in Cambridge, MA on November 16, 1928, daughter of the late Edward P. and Josephine A. (Baldwin) Mello and was a 1946 graduate of Murdock High School. Before moving to Florida, Teresa was a resident of Gardner and Winchendon for most of her life.
Teresa was a licensed practical nurse for many years. She had worked at the former Winchendon Hospital and Baldwinville Nursing Home until her retirement.
Her husband of 60 years, Richard F. Sawyer, died in 2007. She leaves a son, Richard F. Sawyer II and his wife Sharon of Bluemont, VA; three daughters, Pamela J. Evans and her husband Frank of Citrus Springs, FL, Rebecca A. Robichaud and her husband Stephen of Mansfield, CT and Marcia M. Klash of Gardner; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 12th at 12 Noon in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
