TEMPLETON – Theresa P. (Saari) Brooks, 83, of 548 Patriots Road, died Thursday evening, August 28th from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Pelham, while returning home from visiting family.
She was born in Gardner on August 23, 1931, daughter of the late Sulo and Alice (Archambeault) Saari and grew up in Gardner and attended Gardner schools.
Theresa worked as a bakery chef at Heywood Hospital for several years until her retirement. Her hobbies included crocheting and making wedding cakes. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment.
Her husband, Philip B. Brooks, died in 1989. She leaves seven children, Russell P. Brooks and his wife Janet of Winchendon, Patricia A. Mills and her husband Brett of Amissville, VA, Ricky P. Brooks and his wife Denise of Virginia Beach, VA, Carmella E. Boucher of Gardner, Roger P. Brooks and his wife Lisa of Gardner, Shari A. Hanks and her husband Edward P. Jr. of Winchendon and Linda M. Allen and her husband James of Templeton; a sister, Shirley Parks and her husband Martin of Winchendon; a brother, Paul A. Saari of Templeton, 32 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special dog “Scratchy.” A son, Rodney Brooks; a sister, Sally E. Maillet and three grandchildren preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 5th at 10 A.M. in Holy Cross Church, Lake Avenue, East Templeton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
