NEWBURYPORT - Thomas J. Corroto, 71, of Newburyport and formerly of Salisbury Beach, died peacefully, Wednesday morning, January 3, 2018 in Port Rehabilitation, Newburyport, with his family at his side.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 8, 1946, son of the late Vincent and Rosemary (Julian) Corroto and was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School in 1964 and Youngstown State University. He moved to Massachusetts and lived in this state for almost 40 years Tom was a fan of the New England professional sports teams, as well as the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football.
Tom worked in automotive management and had worked for Pep Boys, Firestone and Monro Brake and Muffler. Tom proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He played rugby during college and also enjoyed fishing, golf, crossword puzzles, playing card games with his family and playing Bingo.
He leaves three children, Nicole Corroto of Fitchburg, Thomas A. Corroto of Amesbury and Jamie Lynne Corroto of Amesbury; a sister, Jean Corroto of Ohio; a brother, Joseph Corroto of Ohio; his former wife, Susan (Serino) Corroto of Amesbury, as well as nieces and nephews. A brother, James Corroto, preceded him in death.
Military funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2 P.M. in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
