Valerie A. Paradis

WINCHENDON – Valerie A. (Peters) Paradis, 64, of 220 Front Street, died peacefully at her residence Sunday evening, November 8th, with her family at her side.
She was born in Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada on March 10, 1951, one of 14 children of the late Joseph and Doris (Brooks) Peters and lived for most of her life in Nova Scotia, Canada. She had lived in Winchendon for twelve years after moving from Fitchburg, where she first moved from Nova Scotia.
Valerie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and worked as a recovery specialist for Community Health Link for over ten years. She valued her native culture and was very family oriented. Valerie’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband of 46 years, Jean M. Paradis; three children, Trina O. Phelps and her husband Jason of Winchendon, Jean Paradis Jr and his wife Laurie of Nova Scotia and Eric S. Paradis and his companion Sheena Brooks of Winchendon; six grandchildren Jean, Tristina, Dylan, Olivia, Elizabeth and Liana; her sisters, Theresa Brooks of Ontario, Shirley Clarke and her husband Peter, Joan Foster and her husband Bryce, Marilyn Perkins and her husband Dick, Lorraine Whitman and her husband Tom, and Darlene Copeland and her husband Ken, all of Nova Scotia; her brothers, Ronnie Peters and his wife Sue of New Brunswick, Larry Peters and his wife Terry, Lynwood Peters, and Sidney Peters and his wife Darlene, all of Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen Peters, Lester Peters and Bernard Peters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 14th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
