Victor (Tom) "Buckey" Flis, Jr

We celebrate the life of Victor (Tom)” Bucky” Flis, Jr., who was born on January 26, 1950, in Gardner, Massachusetts. He lived a life true to his nature—uncomplicated, sincere, and full of kindness. Victor passed away on September 20, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of simple joys and heartwarming memories.

Victor dedicated a significant part of his life to the U.S. Postal Service, acting as a Rural Route Carrier. He was known for his commitment, reliability, and the friendly smile that he greeted everyone with. He was the kind of person who knew everyone on his route by name, often going above and beyond to ensure that each piece of mail was delivered with care. Even in retirement, Victor remained a beloved figure in his community.

Victor was a man who cherished his family deeply. He was never married, but his love for his sisters, Deborah Hubbard, and Cheryl L. Flis was boundless. His parents, Victor Sr. and Margery Flis, who preceded him in death, instilled in him the values of integrity, humility, and compassion, which were evident in all aspects of his life. Victor's life was a quiet testament to Robert Ingersoll's quote, "We rise by lifting others." He lived this principle every day, touching the lives of those around him in ways both big and small. Victor was a huge New England Patriots fan.

His funeral service will be held in the Stone Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA 01475. on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a calling hour from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral.

He will be buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville, MA

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Templeton Food Pantry, 16 Senior Drive, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
