WINCHENDON – Walter A. Plante, 89, of 3 Tucker Street, died peacefully Friday morning, June 25, 2021 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville.
He was born in Winchendon on February 14, 1932, son of the late George and Josephine (Girouard) Plante and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Walter worked for Harrington and Richardson Rifle Co. for several years until his retirement. He previously worked at Temple Stuart Furniture Co and then as an assembler at Digital. His hobbies included gardening and spending time with his family. Walter was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
He leaves his wife, Claudette (Lacroix) Plante; three children, Anne-Marie C. Plante of Winchendon, Joyce Plante of Clinton and Christopher Plante of Winchendon; his brothers and sisters, Arthur Plante, Anita Duplease, Francis Plante, Eugene Plante, Alice Tousignant and Beatrice Morgan, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Plante and sisters, Antoinette Plante, Florence Plante and Claire Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
