TEMPLETON – Walter F. Gemborys, 84, of 12 Farnsworth Road, died peacefully at his residence, Friday morning, December 12th, with his family at his side.
He was born in Gardner on April 19, 1930, son of the late Paul and Helen (Bukowski) Gemborys and was a 1948 graduate of Gardner High School. For the last several years, Walter lived in Templeton.
Walter worked as a shop foreman at LS Starrett Tool Company in Athol for 32 years until his retirement in 1992. He previously worked at Kuniholms and Florence Stove. In his retirement years, Walter enjoyed fishing year round and spending time with his grandchildren, with whom he made annual trips to Florida. Through the years, Walter had many dogs, whose companionship he enjoyed.
He leaves his wife and companion of 37 years, Christina (LaRoche) Gemborys; two daughters, Jill Ouellette of Hubbardston and Joy Agnelli of Gardner; three sons, the late Jason Gemborys, William Maroni of Winchendon and Matthew Maroni of Templeton; his brothers and sisters, the late Bronislaw Gemborys, the late Gladys Stuckey, the late Stanley Gemborys, the late Paul Gemborys, the late Genevieve Gemborys, the late Chester Gemborys, the late John Gemborys, the late Barbara Gebo, the late Francis Gemborys, Eugene Gemborys and his wife Eva of Gardner, Joseph Gemborys of Gardner, Richard Gemborys and his wife Joanne of Gardner, Helena Breton of Templeton, and Irene Stacey of Baldwinville as well as his grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20th at 11 AM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Saturday, December 20th from 9 to 11 AM preceding the funeral.
