WINCHENDON – Wayne A. Sweeney, 66, of 155 Monomonac Road West, Winchendon, died peacefully at his residence Monday, January 20th.
He was born in Winchendon on September 7, 1947, son of the late Ronald and Mary (Minckler) Sweeney, graduated from Murdock High School and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Wayne worked as a linotyper at Peterborough Transcript many years ago before retiring due to disability.
He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, stamp collecting and was a movie buff. Taking care of the house, gardening and taking trips in his car were also favorite hobbies.
He leaves a daughter, Shannon L. Sweeney of Plymouth; a grandson, Camden Bauer; three siblings, Ronald L. Sweeney Jr of Royalston, Robin Sweeney of Greenfield and Lincoln M. Sweeney of Arizona and several nephews and nieces. Three sisters, Grace Homon, Joyce Fitch and Vanessa Sweeney, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Calling hours will precede the funeral Saturday from 9:30 to 11 A.M.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
