RINDGE, NH - Wayne B. " Pikey" Pike Jr., 60, of Rindge, died peacefully Saturday morning, October 21, 2017 in Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H., with his family and caregivers at his side.
Pikey was born in Peterborough, NH on July 30, 1957, son of the late Wayne B. and Simone C. (Jalbert) Pike and lived in Rindge for most of his life. In his most recent years, he had lived in Antrim and Keene, NH.
Wayne worked with Monadnock Work Source in Peterborough and had played baseball and basketball in Special Olympics. He was a Red Sox and NASCAR fan and loved Mickey Mouse, He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Pikey was fun and happy and loved life.
Pikey was very compassionate and enjoyed everyone. He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica. Very patriotic, he would play the National Anthem on his harmonica at sporting events and ask everyone to stand. In his earlier years, Pikey enjoyed riding his bicycle.
He leaves Roberta E. Hildreth of Rindge, NH, Sheila Butler and her husband Wayne of California and Jaffrey, NH and Darlene Pike and David McCusker of Rindge, NH as well as nieces and nephews. Niece Brianne had the privilege of growing up with Pikey. He watched over her and called her "No Baby."
He also leaves his caregivers, whom he loved, from Monadnock Developmental Services in Keene .
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11 A.M. in Hillside Cemetery, Rindge.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA are Friday from 5 to 7 P.M.
