LEOMINSTER – Wilfred W. Renaud, 89, formerly of 130 No. Main Street, Leominster, died peacefully Thursday, September 26th at Legend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gardner, with his family at his side.
He was born in Springfield on August 19, 1924, son of the late Narcius and Zephareen (Trottier) Renaud and had lived in Leominster for over 50 years.
Wilfred had worked as a machine operator at American Can Co in Fitchburg for 28 years until his retirement in 1989. During World War Two, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a corporal. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion, both of Leominster. His wife and he were avid bowlers. He found his greatest enjoyment spending time with his family.
His wife of 62 years, Florence R. (Lavallee) Renaud, died in 2010. He leaves a son, Denis W. Renaud and his wife Susan of Winchendon; two grandchildren, Michele Renaud of Winchendon and Craig Renaud of Leominster and two great grandchildren, Alia and Jayke LeBlanc of Winchendon. Wilfred was one of ten children, all of whom have preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday October 2nd at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
Military honors will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
