GARDNER – William C. Hackett, 73, of 13 Wayne Street, Worcester, formerly of 40 Comee Street, Gardner, died peacefully at his residence Monday evening, December 8, 2014, with his family at his side.
He was born in Gardner on August 26, 1941, son of the late Fred E. and Blanche (Pineault) Hackett. He was raised in Templeton and graduated from Narragansett Regional High School in 1960.
Bill worked as a fitter at C&W Fabricating of Gardner until his retirement. He previously worked at KRH in Orange, LS Starrett in Athol, Seaman Paper Company in Baldwinville and for various furniture manufacturers in Gardner. His hobbies were carving wood and building furniture. In earlier years, Bill was a Cub Scout Leader. Bill was an active member of Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God and was active in its Vacation Bible School. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
His wife of 47 years, Patricia A. (Skorko) Hackett, died in 2010. He leaves three children, Paul A. Hackett and his wife Carrie of Gardner, Laurie A. Purdy and her fiancé Randy Martin of Worcester and Chris Hackett and his wife Genevieve of Gardner; a sister, Deanna Robbins of Mexico and her four daughters; twelve grandchildren, three great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16th at 11 A.M. in Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God, 122 Gardner Road, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the church will be Tuesday, December 16th from 10 to 11 A.M. before the service.
