William F. Grasmuck Jr

WINCHENDON – William F. Grasmuck Jr., 77, of Winchendon, died after a short illness Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, with his family at his side.

He was born in Winchendon on August 24, 1941, son of the late William F. and Roseanne Yvonne (Ashmore) Grasmuck and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.

Bill worked numerous jobs, including 30 years at Simplex Time Recorder, in which several of his last years were in a supervisory position.  An avid golfer, he was played at Templewood Golf Club in Templeton and at the former Winchendon Country Club.  In earlier years he was a chess champion.  A member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Bill was an avid fan of New England professional sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, his grandson and dog Roxie.

His wife of 50 years, Lillian L. (Young) Grasmuck, died in 2011.  He leaves a son, William J. Grasmuck and his wife Brenda of Baldwinville; a grandson Krystopher R. Grasmuck of Needham; two sisters, Jean Rivard of Winchendon and Brenda Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO and several nieces and nephews.  A son, Robert Scott Grasmuck; a daughter Justine D. “Jessie” Grasmuck; two sisters, Barbara Desaulniers and Rose Marie Jean and a brother, Harold F. “Spike” Grasmuck, predeceased him.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon.
