William L. Greene

ASHBURNHAM – William L. Greene, 69, of 5 Penacook Drive, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Brighton.

He was born in Fitchburg on July 21, 1949, son of the late Clifton W. Greene Sr. and Ethel M. Greene and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School.  Bill had been a resident of Ashburnham for the last 30 years.

Bill had worked as a carpenter for many years.  He previously worked for Cleghorn Oil, Xerox and had driven a tractor trailer.  His hobbies were traveling to Aruba, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and scuba diving.  He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and was a member of Winchendon Rod and Gun Club.

He leaves five children, Scott W. Greene and his wife Lara of Winchendon, Jamison T. Greene and wife Brenda of Boca Raton, FL, Brian C. Greene and his wife Bethany of Gardner, Susie J. Greene of Winchendon and Lindsey W. Greene of Ashburnham; his partner of many years, Patricia Gould of Ashburnham and her two children, Tammi Gould and Jason Gould;  his brothers and sisters, Clifton Greene Jr and his wife Susan of Concord, NH, Robert Greene and his wife Ann of Ashburnham, George Greene and his wife Sally of Shirley, Richard Greene of Fitchburg, Linda Davis and her husband Ben of Kent, Washington; ten grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.  A sister, Marian Marshall, preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 from 4 to 6 P.M. following by a service at 6 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215   in honor of our loved ones battling cancer.
