WINCHENDON - William T. "Bill" Flanagan, 82, of 20 Banner Place, Winchendon, died Sunday morning, January 13th, in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 14,1925, the son of William and Mary (Enright) Flanagan and moved to Winchendon in 2004 from Bethpage, New York, where he had lived for 54 years. Bill had worked for Monroe Business Machines in the Long Island, New York area for 25 years until his retirement at the age of 63. He served in the United States Navy in World War Two. He was a member of the VFW Post and the Michael Hardigan Council, Knights of Columbus, both in Bethpage, and the Armed Guard of Farmingdale, New York. He enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and worked at the United States Open, which was held in Bethpage, NY in 2002. Bill leaves his wife of 57 years, Gloria (Hildebrand) Flanagan; a son, Kenneth G. Flanagan and his wife Karen of Winchendon; two granddaughters, Kristine Flanagan and Kerri Flanagan, both of Winchendon; a brother, Thomas Flanagan of Ronkonkoma, NY; two sisters-in-law, Anne Flanagan and Eileen Flanagan and several nephews and nieces. A son, William K. Flanagan, died in 1994. A sister, Catherine Catlett, and a brother, John Flanagan, also predeceased him Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17th at 1:15 P.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, will officiate. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, January 16th from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M.
